Connect For Less
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Connect For Less website located at connectforless.ca and any associated subdomains (the "Site"), as well as any orders you submit through our platform for internet or mobile services. By accessing the Site, submitting an order, or checking the "I agree to the Terms of Service" box at checkout, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Site or submit an order.
These Terms form a binding legal agreement between you and Connect For Less. They apply in addition to β and do not replace β the terms of service of the underlying third-party provider that will deliver your internet or mobile service. Where these Terms are silent on a matter, the terms of the underlying provider apply to the service itself.
Connect For Less is a promotional company that connects customers with internet and telecommunications promotions available through our network of Canadian service providers. We are not a telecommunications carrier, an internet service provider, a mobile network operator, or a reseller. We do not own, operate, or lease any network infrastructure, spectrum, or transmission facilities. We facilitate the sign-up process, assist with activation, and provide customer support during the activation/installation process, but the underlying internet or mobile service, the associated service-level commitments, and any post-activation billing relationship (other than the one-time activation fee described in Section 10) are between you and the relevant third-party provider.
The underlying providers currently available through our platform include, without limitation: TekSavvy and EBOX (home internet) and PhoneBox, operated by Connex Global Communications Inc. and delivered over the Telus and Bell networks (mobile and roaming) when available. This list may change from time to time.
In these Terms:
To submit an order, you must be at least 18 years of age, reside in Canada, and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract. Services are generally available to customers with a Canadian service address; availability at any specific address is confirmed by the underlying provider and is not guaranteed. Some plans may require additional verification by the underlying provider before activation.
All prices displayed on the Site are in Canadian dollars (CAD). Monthly prices are the recurring amount charged by the underlying provider; the Activation Fee is a separate one-time charge by CFL.
Applicable sales taxes β HST, GST, PST, or QST depending on your service address β are added to both the Activation Fee and the monthly service, in accordance with federal and provincial law. Mobile plans also carry provincial 9-1-1 emergency service fees, which are mandated by law in most provinces and are billed to you monthly by the underlying mobile provider (not by CFL). The applicable 9-1-1 fee varies by province; territories generally do not charge one.
Any competitor pricing comparisons shown on the Site are based on publicly advertised rates from major Canadian carriers at the time of publication, are intended for informational purposes only, and may not reflect every available offer or promotion.
Promotional pricing is subject to availability. CFL and the underlying providers reserve the right to modify, withdraw, or replace promotions, plans, and pricing at any time. Where an underlying provider offers a "lifetime price guarantee" or similar commitment, that guarantee is a promise of the provider, not of CFL, and is subject to the provider's own terms. Pricing in effect at the time your order is accepted will apply to your initial service term, unless disclosed otherwise at checkout.
Submitting an order through the Site is an offer to purchase. Your order is not accepted until (a) CFL has received it, (b) the underlying provider has confirmed it can deliver service to your address or activate your SIM or eSIM, and (c) any required verification (including credit checks or identity checks performed by the underlying provider) has been completed. CFL may decline or cancel any order at its discretion or on the instruction of the underlying provider, including where an address is not serviceable, where a port request is incompatible with the chosen plan (see Section 12), or where the information provided is inaccurate or incomplete.
If your order cannot be fulfilled, we will notify you and, where possible, offer an alternative. If no alternative is acceptable and the order cannot proceed, any amounts already charged by CFL will be refunded in accordance with Section 16.
Internet services are currently delivered by TekSavvy (DSL and cable) and EBOX (fibre), or by other providers we may add from time to time. All internet plans promoted through CFL are contract-free unless otherwise stated. Service availability, installation timelines, speeds, data allowances, and all service-quality commitments are the responsibility of the underlying internet provider and are governed by that provider's terms.
Certain internet plans may require a soft credit check performed by the underlying provider and, depending on the result, a refundable deposit. Our 100 Mbps Cable plan, as currently promoted, does not require a credit check. CFL itself does not perform credit checks.
PhoneBox Canada Plans are prepaid 30-day mobile plans operating on the Telus network. Current Canada Plans include 75 GB at $30/month, 100 GB at $35/month, and 120 GB at $45/month, each subject to change. Typical features include unlimited Canada-wide calling and texting, 4G LTE and 5G data where available, voicemail, and eSIM or physical SIM delivery. Exact features and inclusions are those disclosed on the plan page at the time of purchase and are governed by the underlying provider's terms.
Canada Plans use the Telus wireless network. Coverage, call quality, data speeds, and 5G availability depend entirely on the Telus network and your device's compatibility with it. CFL does not guarantee coverage or speeds at any location. PhoneBox customers may be subject to speed management, throttling, or deprioritization under the provider's fair-use and network-management policies.
Canada Plans are contract-free, require no credit check, and can be cancelled at any time in accordance with Section 15. Pricing is subject to the provider's lifetime price guarantee as disclosed on the plan page, subject to that provider's own terms.
Canada Plans are designed for use within Canada and do not include international roaming capabilities. If you intend to travel outside Canada and require coverage, you must either purchase a Roaming Plan (Section 9) or use local sim cards or wifi.
PhoneBox requires a unique, valid email address for each line on a Canada Plan. If you order multiple Canada Plan lines, each line must be registered with its own email address for billing and account-management purposes. CFL is not responsible for orders delayed or declined because duplicate email addresses were provided.
Where applicable, the underlying provider will add the mandatory monthly provincial 9-1-1 emergency fee to your invoice based on your billing address. These fees are set by provincial regulators and are not controlled by CFL or the underlying provider.
Roaming Plans are prepaid 30-day mobile plans designed for travel coverage. Roaming Plans, when available, include: Canada-Wide ($45/month), US Hybrid ($50/month) and Global ($75/month, Bell network). Exact features, included destinations, and data allowances are those disclosed on the plan page at the time of purchase and are governed by the underlying provider's terms.
Roaming Plans rely on interconnection agreements between the underlying provider and foreign carriers. Coverage, call quality, and data speeds in any destination country depend on local network availability and are not guaranteed. Certain countries, services, or networks may be excluded at any time without notice. Use of a Roaming Plan in a country not covered by your plan may result in additional pay-per-use charges by the underlying provider.
The provincial 9-1-1 fees described in Section 8.5 also apply to Roaming Plans based on your Canadian billing address.
CFL charges a one-time Activation Fee for each mobile line activated through our platform. The fee compensates CFL for its facilitation services, including order processing, plan configuration with the underlying provider, SIM or eSIM provisioning, port-in coordination, and customer onboarding support. As of the effective date, Activation Fees are:
Activation Fees are quoted exclusive of applicable sales taxes. The fee is authorized on your payment card at checkout and charged at the time of order to begin facilitating your service. If activation cannot be completed for reasons entirely attributable to CFL or to an incompatible port conflict that CFL failed to flag at checkout, the Activation Fee will be refunded in full. Refundability in other circumstances is governed by Section 16.
The Activation Fee covers facilitation only. It does not cover monthly service charges, provincial 9-1-1 fees, taxes, hardware, or any charges imposed by the underlying provider.
CFL uses a two-party billing model for mobile services, which means you will receive charges from two separate companies:
Mobile services are billed monthly in advance.
You authorize the underlying provider to charge your card on file for recurring monthly service until you cancel. If a payment fails, the underlying provider may suspend or terminate service under its own terms. CFL is not a party to your ongoing billing relationship with the underlying provider and cannot reverse, refund, or otherwise adjust charges imposed by the provider β disputes over monthly charges must be raised with the underlying provider.
If you wish to bring your existing mobile number to a PhoneBox plan, CFL will initiate a Port-In request with the underlying provider on your behalf using the information you supply at checkout (current number, current carrier, and account number).
The underlying provider may assign a temporary mobile number to your line at activation. This number is never applied to your phone or your account and your existing number stays active the whole time. During the port window, your existing service may be interrupted for a short period between the network switch.
Certain ports are not technically possible because the source and destination operate on the same underlying network:
Cross-network ports (for example, Rogers to Telus) are generally accepted. If you select a plan that is incompatible with your current carrier, we will flag the conflict at checkout and, where possible, propose an alternative.
You remain fully responsible for any outstanding balance, contractual obligations, device payments, and final invoice owing to your existing carrier until the port completes and thereafter. Successfully porting your number does not close your account with the prior carrier automatically; you are responsible for ensuring that account is properly settled.
Ports can be rejected, delayed, or cancelled by your existing carrier for reasons outside CFL's and the underlying provider's control β for example, mismatched account details, an active contract, an unpaid balance, or carrier-side technical issues. If your port fails, the underlying provider may continue to provide service on a new (non-ported) number; you may accept that new number, provide corrected information to re-attempt the port, or cancel the order subject to Section 16. CFL's liability for failed or delayed ports is limited as set out in Section 22.
An eSIM is an embedded digital SIM profile that is installed on a compatible device. Not all devices support eSIM, and some devices support eSIM only on specific carrier models. You are responsible for confirming your device's eSIM compatibility and for providing an accurate IMEI or EID at checkout. Installing an eSIM requires Wi-Fi and may require a second device to display the QR code, as most devices cannot scan a QR code displayed on their own screen. CFL is not responsible for activation failures caused by device incompatibility, incorrect IMEI/EID, absence of Wi-Fi, or carrier locks on the device.
Physical SIM cards are shipped by Canada Post to the delivery address you provide at checkout. Standard delivery is typically 1β2 business days, though timing depends on Canada Post and is not guaranteed. Risk of loss for a physical SIM passes to you on dispatch. CFL will, at its discretion, arrange for one replacement SIM free of charge if your original is confirmed lost or damaged in transit and Canada Post tracking supports the claim; any subsequent replacements may be subject to a fee. You are responsible for providing a complete, correct, and accessible delivery address.
Your device must be unlocked and technically compatible with the underlying network. CFL does not unlock devices and is not responsible for services that cannot be activated on locked or incompatible hardware.
Internet equipment such as modems and routers provided as part of a plan is owned by the underlying internet provider and loaned to you at no charge during your active service, unless otherwise stated at checkout. Upon cancellation, you may be required to return the equipment in accordance with the provider's policies, and the provider may bill you directly for unreturned or damaged equipment. CFL is not a party to the equipment loan agreement and is not responsible for equipment return logistics or associated charges.
All plans promoted through CFL are contract-free. You may cancel at any time without early termination fees by contacting the underlying provider directly. Cancellation takes effect in accordance with the underlying provider's terms β typically at the end of the current prepaid billing cycle for mobile plans, or on the date agreed for internet services. Any prepaid month of mobile service already billed by the underlying provider is non-refundable once charged, unless the underlying provider's terms or applicable law provide otherwise.
Cancelling your mobile service does not constitute a port-out request. If you wish to take your number to another carrier, you must initiate a port request with the new carrier before cancelling your mobile service; numbers that have been fully cancelled may no longer be portable.
Activation Fees are charged by CFL for facilitation services that are substantially performed the moment your line is provisioned, your SIM is dispatched, or your eSIM QR is issued. Accordingly, except as set out below and except where non-waivable consumer-protection law provides otherwise (including for residents of Quebec), Activation Fees are non-refundable once the facilitation work has been performed. This approach is consistent with the underlying provider's own policy on one-time activation and installation fees.
Notwithstanding the above, CFL will refund the Activation Fee in full where:
Where a physical SIM has already been shipped and the order is cancelled for reasons attributable to you, a reasonable SIM-recovery fee may be deducted from any refund otherwise payable. eSIM QRs, once issued, cannot be "recovered" and the associated Activation Fee is treated as having been earned.
Monthly service charges are billed by the underlying provider and are subject to the provider's own refund and cancellation terms. In general, and based on PhoneBox's published policy at the time of these Terms, a prepaid 30-day monthly plan is paid in advance for the coming period; on cancellation, PhoneBox may provide upon request a pro-rated refund of the unused portion of the monthly fee for the days remaining in the billing cycle after cancellation. This policy is set by the underlying provider and may change. Refunds of amounts charged by the underlying provider must be requested from, and are issued by, that provider; CFL cannot refund charges it did not collect.
To request a refund of an Activation Fee or raise a dispute about any amount billed by CFL, email support@connectforless.ca within 15 days of the charge with your order reference and a description of the issue. Disputes about monthly service, device compatibility, coverage, or anything else billed or delivered by the underlying provider should be directed to that provider first. If a dispute with the underlying provider is not resolved to your satisfaction, you may contact CFL to assist you, or you may escalate to the Commission for Complaints for Telecom-television Services (CCTS), an independent federal agency that resolves telecom complaints free of charge (ccts-cprst.ca).
Nothing in this Section limits any non-waivable refund, cancellation, or rescission right you have under applicable consumer-protection law, including rights available to residents of Quebec under the Consumer Protection Act (CQLR c P-40.1) which, among other things, restricts the ability of a merchant to treat certain fees as non-refundable.
CFL collects, uses, and discloses personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and with the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy law. To provide the services you order, we share the information listed below with the relevant underlying provider.
Depending on the plan you order, the categories of information we share with the underlying provider include: full name, email address, residential and/or billing address, phone number, date of birth (where required), payment card tokens for recurring billing, device IMEI or EID (for eSIM activation), and β where you have requested a number transfer β your existing mobile number, current carrier, and current carrier account number. For Canada Plans with multiple lines, we share a unique email address per line as required by the provider.
We share this information only to: activate your service, process the Activation Fee and enable recurring billing by the underlying provider, complete a port-in request, deliver a physical SIM, provide customer support, comply with legal and regulatory obligations, and detect and prevent fraud.
The underlying recipients of your information are the providers you contract with through our platform β currently PhoneBox (operated by Connex Global Communications Inc.), Telus, Bell, TekSavvy, and EBOX. These providers have their own privacy policies and are independent controllers of the information they receive for the purpose of providing the service. CFL also uses service providers (for example, payment processors and email platforms) to operate the Site; where these service providers process information on our behalf, we require them to maintain appropriate safeguards.
CFL's own systems process customer information primarily in Canada, using service providers that may also process information in the United States (for example, payment processors and email delivery platforms). Information shared with the underlying service providers is handled in accordance with that provider's privacy policy, which states that personal information may be stored and processed in Canada or another country, with appropriate security safeguards. Information in any jurisdiction may be available to government agencies under the applicable laws of that jurisdiction. Our Privacy Policy provides further detail on cross-border processing.
We retain personal information only as long as necessary to provide our services, comply with legal obligations (including tax and accounting retention requirements), resolve disputes, and perform ongoing internal marketing initiatives. You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information CFL holds about you, and you may withdraw your consent to CFL's use of your information at any time, subject to legal and contractual restrictions (withdrawal of consent may mean we can no longer facilitate your service). Contact support@connectforless.ca. Requests relating to information held by an underlying provider should be directed to that provider.
By submitting an order and by checking the separate data-sharing consent box at checkout, you expressly consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information for the purposes described above.
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information in connection with any order, including your identity, address, payment details, device IMEI/EID, and any port-in information. Providing false, misleading, or incomplete information may result in your order being declined, your service being suspended or terminated by the underlying provider, and forfeiture of the Activation Fee to the extent permitted by law.
CFL operates an affiliate referral program. Affiliates earn commissions for referring new customers who activate service. Commission amounts, payment schedules, anti-fraud rules, and program terms are set out in a separate Affiliate Agreement provided to enrolled affiliates. CFL reserves the right to modify or discontinue the affiliate program at any time, and to withhold or reverse commissions on referrals that are fraudulent, self-referred, or that fail to complete activation.
CFL's ability to offer and support a plan depends on its arrangements with the underlying provider. If an underlying provider modifies, withdraws, or discontinues a plan; changes its pricing, features, or network technology (including sunsetting legacy networks such as 3G); or ceases to do business with CFL, CFL will pass through those changes in accordance with the provider's terms and applicable law, and will give you reasonable notice where we are able to do so. CFL is not liable for plan changes, feature removals, or network changes imposed by an underlying provider.
All content on the CFL website β including text, layout, design, logos, graphics, and code β is the property of Connect For Less or its licensors and is protected by Canadian copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, or distribute any of our content without prior written permission. Third-party trademarks (for example, Telus, Bell, PhoneBox, TekSavvy, EBOX) are the property of their respective owners and are used only for accurate, descriptive reference to the services they identify. Nothing on the Site should be read as an endorsement by those third parties unless expressly stated.
You acknowledge that CFL is a promotional intermediary and does not directly provide telecommunications or internet services. To the maximum extent permitted by law:
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including non-waivable rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2002 (Ontario) or equivalent legislation in other provinces.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CFL and its directors, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and reasonable expenses (including legal fees) arising out of or related to (a) any information you provide that is false or inaccurate, (b) your breach of these Terms, (c) your misuse of the Site or any service obtained through our platform, or (d) your violation of any applicable law or third-party right.
Nothing in these Terms limits the rights you have under applicable Canadian consumer-protection law. In particular, consumers in Quebec, British Columbia, and certain other provinces have statutory rights regarding distance contracts, including in some circumstances the right to cancel an internet or distance contract within a specified period after receiving a copy of the contract. Where such rights apply, they prevail over any conflicting provision of these Terms. Contact us if you believe a statutory right applies to your order.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Subject to any non-waivable consumer-protection rights you may have, you and CFL agree that the courts of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Site, and each party attorns to the jurisdiction of those courts. Where permitted, the parties agree to first attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting support@connectforless.ca before commencing formal proceedings.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Material changes will, where reasonably practicable, be brought to the attention of active customers by email or through a notice on the Site before they take effect. Your continued use of the Site or your continued service after the effective date of a revised version constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. The version in force at the time an order is submitted governs that order.
